Evandreo and Xanthenex

Evandreo being on the left and Xanthenex on the right. I drew Xan first, and added Evan as a sort of afterthought, because I wanted to have a color reference of his markings too. I do not particularily like Xan's body structure, for it is a bit stiff. Yet I did not feel like changing it after I had drawn Evan. Also, though Xan is smaller than him, it is not quite that much of a difference. Another thing I was too lazy to fix.

So I finally got around to redesigning Xan's markings, seeing as I think that before there were too many of them, and the colors were not the greatest, just a spur of the moment thing. So now she has fewer markings, and only two colors. Also, I changed her eye color from completely white to a normal eye (as in, it has a pupil and looks much like an eye that you might find on a dog) that is brown.

Also, I am introducing what is (currently) my only other Ytymarte character: Evandreo. He happens to be Xan's best (and possibly only, still working on the storyline), friend. They met when they were very young, and later on they perform a sort of blood bonding thing, that does not happen too often among the Ytymarte anymore, simply because it is going out of practice, and it is considered something incredibly special to share one's blood with another through that ritual. For with the Ytymarte, they could gain some of the attributes of the other, and even have a sort of telepathic link. It is probably the greatest secret kept by Xan and Evan, for it is forbidden to be performed without permission and proper setup, both of which they did not have. However, they wanted to be rebellious and see if they could accomplish it by themselves, and they were teenagers. So they searched the off-limits section of the library (yes, they have a library. several, actually. I am still working out the details of books/writing for them), and found a very old book indeed about it. Some of the information about the ritual had been lost over time, so Xan and Evan's bond is actually more pure than what any of the other ones in their time are.

Evan is also prince of the Ytymarte, making him that much cooler. That is why he has the red ear tips, which is something only those in the royal family line have. No other Ytymarte have red markings on them anywhere, because it just does not happen. I am slowly figuring out details, but I think that the red ear tips come about when the Ytymarte comes of age and should rightfully be on the throne, and so it is unmistakable who is in the royal line, and who should be king (or queen).

So, Xan and Evan. The age at which I usually draw them is 53 (them being the same age), and this is because the Ytymarte age differently than humans, and instead of being in senior citizen-ness after this many years, they are but twenty-something. Convenient, eh? And, 53 is about when my major plot thing happens. The Ytymarte can live up to two hundred years or more, although they do not lose their fitness until well into the supposed old age window.

That was quite a long description, but I have not updated in a while, and hopefully some information on their race is sufficient. I hope that you enjoy the picture, even if you did not read the whole description.
